Job title: PMO Lead, China IT
About the Role This role will lead the Project Management Office of BioNTech's China IT organization. It oversees and manages progress across the full life cycle of China Digital & IT projects and is responsible for project delivery in scope, time, and budget.
What You'll Do
- Lead PMO for China IT; manage full lifecycle of projects from initiation to closure; ensure delivery within scope, time, and budget.
- Establish IT project governance, budget planning, resource management, risk/issue management, reporting, and communications with stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross-functional planning for multiple complex projects; align with strategic priorities; optimize resource allocation.
- Build, mentor, and manage high-performing project teams; drive cross-disciplinary teams; ensure effective information flow among stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks, dependencies, issues; escalate critical topics to senior leadership; implement mitigation strategies.
- Report project status to boards/steering committees/global stakeholders; maintain transparency of global portfolio; interface with global teams.
- Own budget planning, forecasting, and tracking; manage financials and vendor relationships; support procurement as needed.
- Drive adoption of global PM standards and governance frameworks; ensure consistency and quality across initiatives.
- Additional duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in related field; minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience implementing an ERP system; SAP preferred.
- Highly experienced PM professional with track record leading large-scale IT projects in a matrixed organization; familiarity with Prince2 or PMP.
- Fluent English; excellent written and oral communication.
- Preferred: ability to apply PM methodologies, portfolio management; pharmaceutical industry with CSV and GxP; governance; stakeholder facilitation; ability to lead change management; ability to deliver in ambiguity; vendor/contract management; large SAP ERP implementation experience; budget management of at least $5M.
- Experience with waterfall and Agile methodologies; strong analytical problem solving; cross-functional collaboration; change management; etc.
- Vendor relationship, procurement and contract management experience.
- Experience leading implementation of LARGE SAP ERP system; budget ~5M+.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in pharmaceutical industry with CSV/GxP.
- Experience managing global portfolios and stakeholder groups.
