About the Role Volt is hiring a Plating Technician 3 for a local leading Manufacturing Company in Kearny Mesa, CA. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire role supporting first and second shift operations focused on plating preparation, process control, and quality testing. What You'll Do
- Prepare surfaces for plating, including cleaning, polishing, and sandblasting
- Select appropriate plating materials and chemicals based on the desired finish and application requirements
- Set up and maintain plating equipment, such as tanks, pumps, and power supplies
- Monitor and adjust plating parameters, such as voltage, temperature, and current density
- Conduct tests to ensure plated parts meet quality standards (adhesion, corrosion resistance, thickness)
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform repairs or adjustments
- Maintain accurate records of plating operations (chemical usage, time on tasks, issues encountered)
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations related to plating operations
- Perform other related duties as required; this is a full-time temp-to-hire opportunity What We're Looking For
- High school education or equivalent (GED)
- 5+ years of experience in plating/electroplating facility
- Experience with various plating materials and chemicals, and with plating equipment/tools
- Strong technical skills, including ability to read/interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of chemical safety protocols; ability to troubleshoot and maintain plating equipment
- Good communication and ability to work well in a team
- ITAR US Person requirements Nice to Have
- Postsecondary education (associate degree in chemistry or related field)
- Certification in plating/electroplating from a recognized industry organization
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and frequently up to 10 pounds Compensation & Benefits
- Pay rate: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour, DOE and Shift
