About this role
Job title: Platform Reliability Engineer
About the Role Join Humanitec as a Platform Reliability Engineer focused on enabling drift detection, precise rollbacks, and rapid incident response using the Platform Orchestrator. You’ll help customers keep their environments secure and aligned by surfacing exact changes and blast radius, and enabling confidence in automated remediation.
What You'll Do
- Advocate and enable the use of drift detection and rollback workflows across customer deployments using the Platform Orchestrator.
- Map incidents across infrastructure to see which workloads and environments are affected; communicate findings clearly to engineering and operations teams.
- Drill into resource graphs to identify the exact node and configuration causing drift and guide timely remediation.
- Integrate drift signals with customers' observability stacks so issues are seen immediately.
- Collaborate with product and customer success teams to shorten mean time to recovery and reduce post-incident toil.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or DevOps, with interest in drift detection, configuration compliance, and rollback workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS) and deployment pipelines; comfort reading resource graphs and dependency maps.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
- Proactive mindset and ability to work cross-functionally with customers and internal teams.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the Humanitec Platform Orchestrator and deploying IDPs or similar automation flows.
- Experience with observability tools and integrating drift signals into monitoring dashboards (e.g., Datadog, other APMs).
- Knowledge of IaC and GitOps practices.
