Job title: Platform Orchestrator
About the Role As a Platform Orchestrator at Humanitec, you will define when and how clusters are created based on environment context, enforce governance rules, and reuse templates built in IaC formats like Terraform, Pulumi, and Crossplane. You will work with Kubernetes or GPU clusters across any cloud, enabling multi-tenancy and multicloud, and allocate clusters that the Platform Orchestrator partitions into consumable units across cloud and on-prem environments.
What You'll Do
- Define when and how clusters are created based on environment context.
- Reuse templates built in IaC formats such as Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane.
- Share resource definitions across many clusters to keep them in sync and up to date.
- Work with Kubernetes or GPU clusters across any cloud.
- Nail multi-tenancy and multicloud.
- Allocate clusters and let the Platform Orchestrator partition them efficiently into smaller units that users can consume.
- Orchestrate the usage across any cloud and on-prem.
- Provide users with a unified interface to launch and compose applications on clusters you provide.
- Pre-package AI models, services or whole apps, including all dependent resources.
- Update and maintain as a fleet: a single file can be used to update all your clusters across workloads.
- The Platform Orchestrator will dynamically update all clusters depending on the same definition to keep fleets on latest standards.
- Maintain a unified API and UI to map dependencies and answer questions like idle resource sunsets at scale and securely.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with Kubernetes and/or GPU clusters across any cloud and on-prem.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane.
- Ability to define environment-driven rules for cluster creation and governance.
- Familiarity with sharing cluster resource definitions across multiple workloads and performing fleet-wide updates.
- Experience designing or operating a platform orchestration system with a unified API/UI.
- Understanding of multi-tenancy and multicloud architectures.
Nice to Have
- Experience packaging AI models, services, or whole apps including dependencies for deployment.
- Familiarity with dynamic fleet updates to keep large numbers of instances up to date.
- Experience building self-service portals or dashboards for dependency mapping and resource sunset.
