About the Role Humanitec is seeking a Platform Engineer to help scale and govern the Platform Orchestrator that sits between AI agents, developers, and infrastructure. You will work on enabling infrastructure provisioning within the rules defined by platform teams, so AI and humans can provision with no tickets, no surprises, and full governance. What You'll Do
- Build and maintain the Platform Orchestrator that provisions infrastructure according to the same rules across all interfaces (AI, developers, CLI, UI).
- Implement progressive rollouts, impact analysis, rollback, drift detection, and ephemeral environments to reduce blast radius and surface changes quickly.
- Connect and enforce governance over existing modules (Terraform/OpenTofu) and cloud accounts; ensure RBAC and policy compliance across environments.
- Enable end-to-end self-service while preventing blocked or unguided provisioning through automated controls. What We're Looking For
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and IaC, especially Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Understanding of platform engineering concepts: RBAC, governance, security, cost controls, and compliance.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code integrations.
- Strong collaboration skills to work with platform teams, developers, and security/compliance stakeholders. Nice to Have
- Familiarity with progressive rollout patterns, impact analysis, rollback commands, and drift detection.
- Experience with ephemeral environments for validation and automated tear-downs. Compensation & Benefits
