About the Role Join Humanitec to build and operate ephemeral environments that spin up with every pull request, enabling production-like infrastructure out of the box. As a Platform Engineer on the Internal Developer Platform, you will work on the Platform Orchestrator and scoring-based environment lifecycle to keep costs down while delivering high quality, secure environments. What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain ephemeral environments with the Platform Orchestrator, ensuring automatic provisioning and environment progression.
- Integrate environment provisioning with Git and CI providers; trigger builds and tests for every PR.
- Provision resources end-to-end (clusters, databases, storage, DNS) and seed data when environments are duplicated.
- Coordinate with teams and set up webhooks to notify third-party systems (Slack, Teams, ticketing) based on events.
- Manage access and permissions with RBAC; collaborate with developers to streamline workflows and reduce toil.
- Ensure environments are automatically scaled down and deleted to optimize cost. What We're Looking For
- Experience in platform engineering or internal developer platforms; familiarity with environment automation and Score-driven workflows.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, and cloud providers; ability to design repeatable, secure environments.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD integrations, and webhook-based automation.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, product-focused environment. Nice to Have
- Experience with Humanitec's Platform Orchestrator or similar score-based provisioning systems.
- Demonstrated experience with RBAC governance and security best practices.
- Experience with seeding and cloning environments and databases.
