About the Role Synopsys platform engineers enable the world of EDA by developing and maintaining scalable, automated infrastructure used in chip design, verification and manufacturing. This role focuses on automating processes, improving virtualization/containerization, and ensuring a reliable, scalable engineering environment across time zones and global teams.
What You'll Do
- Focus on automation and process improvements.
- Enhance virtualization and containerization infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot operating system and engineering issues within our Linux environment.
- Collaborate on internal projects across various time zones and teams.
- Coordinate with customers and transfer tasks/issues to team members to optimize time zone utilization.
- Contribute to improving reliability and performance of the engineering environment, scaling and managing it more effectively, and streamlining processes for scalability and efficiency.
- Address complex OS and engineering challenges to facilitate smoother operations and ensure successful project outcomes through cross-time-zone collaboration.
- Improve customer satisfaction by addressing and resolving issues promptly.
What We're Looking For
- Proficient in Linux operating systems (RHEL, SLES, Ubuntu).
- Ability to comprehend complex engineering implementations and their interdependencies for effective troubleshooting.
- Experienced with automation platforms such as Ansible, Tower, or AWX.
- Familiar with architectures including x86_64, aarch64, and ppc64.
- Extensive knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and storage solutions (local storage and network appliances).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work across a global, intercultural team.
- Self-motivated, proactive problem solver with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
Nice to Have
- Experience with HPC clusters, high-performance storage, and large-scale private cloud implementations.
- GPU clusters for HPC/GenAI workloads.
- Familiarity with SRE best practices and monitoring complex environments.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $113,000 - $169,000 USD per year.
