Plant Technician

About the Role P&G is hiring entry-level Plant Technicians to help run and maintain the latest production technology and equipment in our Iowa City plant. You'll work on a team that keeps production flowing, meets performance goals, and maintains the high level of quality that consumers expect from our products. We hire you at entry level and you advance by demonstrating growing levels of operating, maintenance and leadership skills. We also provide you with the opportunity to expand into electrical, quality assurance, safety and hygiene, and other areas of expertise.

What You'll Do

• Run high-speed converting and packing equipment.
• Control the process from a computer terminal.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Own your work from day one and contribute to production and quality.
• Work on a team to keep production flowing and meet performance targets.
• Opportunity to expand into electrical, quality assurance, safety and hygiene, and other areas of expertise.

What We're Looking For

• 18 years of age or older
• Have a minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education
• Be able to read, write, communicate, and understand English
• Wear required safety personal protective equipment (eye protection, ear protection, safety shoes)
• Must display skills in manufacturing processes, including operating, maintaining and cleaning automated equipment
• Maintaining accurate records and data
• Display strong technical, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Operating essential material handling equipment at the site e.g., clamp truck, forklift, hand trucks, etc.
• Must meet physical requirements: Use basic hand and power tools; Lift 50 pounds; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms; twist, turn and bend; Enter confined spaces; Stand on concrete floors for an extended period of time
• The Iowa City Procter & Gamble Plant operates 7-days per week; willing to rotate and work any shift; weekends may be part of the schedule; hours vary from 8 to 12 hours per day; shifts can be straight or rotating; overtime may be required; relocation is generally not paid.

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting Pay: $26.72 per hour
• Total rewards at P&G include salary + bonus (if applicable) + benefits; relocation is generally not paid
