About the Role Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for scheduling and overseeing the daily operations of the plant to meet customer delivery expectations while ensuring safety, product quality, and process efficiency. What You'll Do
- Manages, directs, and controls activities for all manufacturing personnel
- Schedules all production activities and communicates lead times to customer service
- Primary contact for hiring direct labor and maintaining cross-training matrix
- Works with area managers to ensure proper evaluation of direct labor
- Directs employees to achieve best product delivery and quality
- Responsible for overall quality and cost performance for every roll
- Oversees assigned capital projects
- Visits customer sites as required by the customer or Sales group
- Ensures the SPI and industry standards are met for all rolls
- Travels to other Andritz facilities to facilitate plant efficiency
- Reports issues to the Plant Manager
- Leads continuous improvement efforts including LEAN, RCFA, RCM, ISO
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager What We're Looking For
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent
- 8-10 years manufacturing experience, preferably in a paper industry or related setting
- Proven supervisory and leadership abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills with Word and Excel
- Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment; occasional travel
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail
