About the Role The Plant Quality Engineer will execute product and process controls per the control plan in close collaboration with the plant production team. This role leads 8D problem resolution, interacts with Customer Quality Engineers, and supports customer feedback meetings and weekly quality reporting. What You'll Do

  • Ensure ongoing compliance to production control plans and maintain program documents throughout the life of the program.
  • Verify test/measurement equipment is used properly, calibrated, and maintained, including red rabbits for Poka Yoke verification.
  • Collect, review and react to data from the manufacturing process per the control plan; maintain capability studies (SPC data).
  • Support continuous improvement efforts; approve and maintain quality documentation as part of a cross-functional team (control plans, work instructions, boundary samples, appearance books, rework/inspection instructions, etc.).
  • Ensure containment, rework, and inspection processes for non-conforming product; lead disposition and timely resolution.
  • Serve as quality lead on problem-solving teams and the Fast Response System; drive the problem-solving process using 8D methodology and ensure customer/internal response times.
  • Facilitate problem solving for non-conforming product with relevant teams; coordinate internal sorting activities as needed.
  • Resolve quality issues related to capability, tolerancing, and materials; perform process capability studies and follow up to verify effectiveness.
  • Participate in modification of FMEA; supervise Manufacturing Process Quality Inspectors/Auditors; oversee inspection/audit processes.
  • Maintain authority to stop any process or product delivery in case of non-conformance or safety/environment risks. What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or a technical field from an accredited institution.
  • 3-10 years in automotive quality.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings to understand quality parameters and product-specific requirements.
  • Knowledge of practical problem-solving tools and 8D methodology.
  • Experience with reporting and quality tools such as APQP, FMEA, GD&T, MSA, PPAP, SPC; Layered Process Audits; and general quality control methods.
  • Supervisory experience over Manufacturing Process Quality Inspectors/Auditors; capable of leading cross-functional teams.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Nice to Have
  • Experience in relevant manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Understanding of practical 8D tool variants (Is-Is Not, Fishbone, Brainstorming, Affinity Diagrams, 5 Whys).
  • Experience with product/process audits such as LPAs and Layered Process Audits. Compensation & Benefits
