Plant Level MES Analyst

The Plant Level MES Analyst is the dedicated on-ground IT Supply Chain & MES resource at the assigned manufacturing plant(s). This role combines hands-on SCADA/Ignition development and solution architecture expertise with deep knowledge of Advance Planning and Scheduling (APS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to execute the full spectrum of Digital Factory implementations at plant level. The analyst serves as the primary IT interface for shop-floor technology — driving Ignition MES deployments, WMS/TMS go-lives, APS enhancements and maintenance, and Oracle EBS integration while coordinating with Operations, ME/AME, vendors, and IT Infrastructure teams for effective deployment and sustained operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

MES / Ignition Deployment & Support:

• Execute Ignition MES deployment and configuration at assigned plant(s) per global methodology
• Support Brick-to-Ignition transition activities at applicable EMEA plants
• Coordinate CyberPlan (APS) and QMS deployment support at plant level as required
• Drive system stability, regular upgrades, patches, and enhancements post go-live

SCADA / Ignition Development & Solution Architecture:

• Develop and maintain SCADA/Ignition solutions at plant level — including HMI screen development (Vision & Perspective), tag configuration, alarming, historical data logging, and real-time production dashboards
• Design and implement plant-level Ignition architecture — defining gateway setup, module configuration, device connectivity (PLCs, sensors, barcode readers), edge computing setup, and data flow design aligned with enterprise standards
• Build and maintain Ignition scripting (Python/Jython), templates, and reusable components per global standards
• Configure OPC-UA, Modbus, MQTT, and other industrial communication protocols for PLC/sensor integration on the shop floor

WMS & TMS Deployment (IT Side):

• Lead WMS (Warehouse Management System) deployment from the IT side at plant level — including system configuration, warehouse setup, inventory zone mapping, pick/pack/ship workflows, cycle counting, and integration with shop-floor operations
• Lead TMS (Transportation Management System) deployment from the IT side at plant level — including carrier setup, route optimization configuration, shipment tracking, freight management, and dock scheduling integration
• Manage all WMS & TMS applications at plant level — ensuring system availability, performance monitoring, user access management, and alignment with global application standards

WMS & TMS Systems Knowledge:

• Maintain strong knowledge of all WMS & TMS systems, equipment, operating models, applications, and server connectivity:
• Systems: Oracle WMS, Oracle TMS, and comparable platforms deployed at the plant
• Equipment: Barcode scanners, RF handheld devices, label printers (Zebra), conveyor/sortation systems, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), weigh scales, dock levellers, GPS trackers
• Operating Models: 3PL managed warehouses, in-house warehousing, cross-docking, hub-and-spoke distribution, zone/wave picking, milk-run logistics, FTL/LTL shipping
• Applications: Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), Yard Management Systems (YMS), Fleet Management, Carrier Portals Management, EDI/ASN processing
• Connectivity to Servers: Server architecture for WMS/TMS (on-prem and cloud), database connectivity (Oracle DB, SQL Server), API/web service integration, middleware platforms, network/firewall configuration, VPN/site-to-site connectivity

Oracle EBS Integration:

• Execute Oracle EBS integration at plant level — ensuring bi-directional data flows between Ignition MES, WMS, TMS, and Oracle EBS for work orders, BOMs, routings, inventory transactions, shipping confirmations, ASN processing, and production reporting
• Maintain and troubleshoot integration interfaces (REST APIs, database connectors, middleware) to ensure real-time, reliable data exchange between shop-floor systems and ERP

Shop-Floor Coordination & Operations:

• Coordinate shop-floor deployment with Operations, Quality, and ME/AME teams

• Manage vendor and contractor activities at plant level for all MES, APS, WMS, and TMS implementations

• Ensure infrastructure readiness for all systems — coordinating with IT Infrastructure team for network configuration, firewall rules, database connectivity, and server provisioning

• Facilitate user training and adoption at plant level for all deployed IT SC & MES systems

• Document plant-specific configurations, integration mappings, operational procedures, and runbooks

• Provide deployment status updates to the regional MES Specialist and IT Ops BRM

• Qualification and Experience

Required:

• 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing IT, MES, WMS, TMS, or industrial automation within a manufacturing/warehouse/logistics environment
• Strong hands-on experience as a SCADA / Ignition Developer — proficiency in Inductive Automation's Ignition platform including scripting (Python/Jython), tag configuration, HMI/SCADA screen development (Vision & Perspective modules), alarming, historical data logging, and real-time dashboard creation
• Strong experience as an Ignition Solution Architect — ability to design plant-level Ignition gateway architecture, module selection, device connectivity (PLCs, sensors, barcode readers), edge computing setup, and data flow design aligned with enterprise standards
• Strong experience in TMS & WMS deployment from IT side — hands-on expertise deploying Oracle WMS, Oracle TMS, or equivalent systems including system configuration, warehouse/transport setup, workflow design, integration testing, cutover, and go-live support
• Strong knowledge of all WMS & TMS systems — comprehensive understanding of systems (Oracle WMS/TMS and comparable platforms), equipment (scanners, RF devices, label printers, conveyors, AS/RS), operating models (3PL, in-house, cross-dock, hub-and-spoke), applications (WCS, YMS, Fleet Management, EDI/ASN), and connectivity to servers (database, APIs, middleware, network/firewall, VPN)
• Good knowledge of Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) — understanding of capacity scheduling, demand/supply planning, constraint-based optimization, and how APS outputs (production and shipment schedules) drive execution in MES, WMS, and TMS, with experience integrating APS systems with Oracle EBS and shop-floor/warehouse execution layers.
• Strong experience in Integration with Oracle EBS — hands-on expertise integrating WMS, TMS, and Ignition MES with Oracle EBS for inventory sync, order management, shipping confirmations, production reporting, and cost accounting via APIs, database connectors, or middleware
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, shop-floor operations, and warehouse/logistics workflows
• Demonstrated experience executing system deployments at plant or warehouse level

Preferred:

• Experience with Ignition MES modules (OEE, Downtime Tracking, Production Scheduling, Track & Trace)
• Knowledge of MQTT/Sparkplug B and IIoT protocols for shop-floor data acquisition
• Familiarity with QMS deployment and quality process automation
• Experience with CyberPlan or similar APS tools for supply chain planning integration
• Knowledge of PLC/SCADA communication protocols (OPC-UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
• Experience with Brick MES platform or legacy MES
• Background in discrete manufacturing, HVAC, industrial, or automotive sectors
• Inductive Automation Ignition certifications (Core, Gold)
• Oracle WMS/TMS implementation experience or certifications
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
