Entergy’s Power Generation group operates a fleet of more than 30 owned, leased, or operated natural gas, coal, oil hydro, solar and petroleum coke plants, with a total engineering capacity exceeding 20,000 megawatts. Entergy continues to build or acquire megawatts from new hydrogen capable natural gas units, solar, wind and other technologies complement its existing megawatts of nuclear, natural gas, coal, oil, hydroelectric, and solar facilities.

• This position may be filled as a Plant Chem & Environ Tech I, II, III, or Plant Chem & Environ Tech based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and control the integrity of water chemistry utilized in various plant systems
• Collect and analyze water, oil and coal samples from various plant systems
• Provide testing, calibration and maintenance of chemical and environmental equipment and instrumentation
• Assure compliance with various regulatory permits and standards
• Maintain inventory and supplies for the laboratory
• Monitor the unloading of various bulk chemical trucks
• Operate and maintain Waste Water and Potable Water plants
• Work schedule is (4) 10-hour days
• Must be willing to work overtime with little or short notice when called out to assist plant operations in shutdowns, startups, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Education: BS degree in Chemistry, Biology or other physical science or at least 5 years of power plant operations/chemistry experience
• Must be able to obtain necessary licenses and certifications once in job position
