About the Role The Plant Buyer at Sonoco will source and purchase materials, supplies, and services for the Querétaro plant to keep production running smoothly. The role focuses on supplier relationship management, cost control, and ensuring materials meet quality standards and compliance. What You'll Do
- Source and purchase materials, supplies, and services required for plant operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
- Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure materials meet required standards and specifications.
- Conduct cost analysis and market research to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
- Additional Responsibilities as Assigned. What We're Looking For
- Prefer Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
