Plant Buyer

About the Role Plant Buyer at Corning will play a critical part in keeping our operations running by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services that support our manufacturing processes, working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers. What You'll Do

• Support the development and execution of Global Supply Management (GSM) strategies, ensuring sourcing decisions, supplier selection, and procurement activities align with business objectives, operational needs, and long-term supply chain goals.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships from sourcing through contract administration, leading negotiations, supporting supplier performance reviews and audits, and driving continuous improvement in quality, delivery, cost, and service.
• Partner with manufacturing sites and cross-functional teams—including Materials, Quality, Engineering, and Operations—to ensure supply continuity, resolve issues, optimize costs, and support business-critical initiatives.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve procurement processes, policies, and supply management practices, promoting operational efficiency, cost competitiveness, compliance, and ethical business standards.
• Ensure compliance with Global Supply Management policies, purchasing guidelines, audit requirements, and applicable regulatory standards, while championing responsible sourcing and environmental stewardship across the supply base. What We're Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience in procurement and indirect materials supply chain management within a manufacturing environment, with exposure to areas such as operations, planning, quality, engineering, or supply chain.
• Experience managing sourcing and supplier relationships, including purchasing processes, supplier negotiations, contract management, and procurement systems (GSM experience preferred).
• Advanced English proficiency
• Flexibility to support and collaborate with teams across multiple manufacturing sites within the Monterrey metropolitan area. Nice to Have
