Pipe Fitter

Job Overview

The Pipe Fitter is responsible for the fabrication, installation, assembly, modification, inspection, maintenance, and repair of piping systems used for conveying water, steam, gas, air, chemicals, and other process fluids within the plant.
The role supports safe and reliable plant operations by ensuring piping systems are installed and maintained in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
The successful candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of industrial piping systems, excellent pipe fitting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing or process plant environment.

Key Responsibilities / Critical Tasks

Install and Assemble Piping Systems: Install, assemble, align, and secure piping systems, valves, fittings, supports, and related equipment in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Perform Piping Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities on pipelines, valves, flanges, pumps, and associated piping components to ensure system integrity and reliability.
Interpret Technical Drawings and Isometric Plans: Read and interpret piping drawings, isometric sketches, P&IDs, blueprints, and work instructions to execute pipe fitting activities accurately.
Fabricate and Prepare Pipe Components: Measure, mark, cut, thread, bevel, bend, and prepare pipes and fittings for installation, maintenance, and modification works.
Conduct Pipe Alignment and Fit-Up Activities: Perform pipe alignment, fit-up, and positioning activities to ensure compliance with dimensional and engineering requirements prior to welding or commissioning.
Carry Out Pressure Testing and Inspection Support: Assist in hydrostatic testing, leak testing, line checking, flushing, and commissioning of piping systems to verify operational readiness.
