About the Role Provides direct patient care and support to multidisciplinary health team working within the scope of practice of a Physician Assistant (PA). Serves as a clinical expert through patient education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and consultation, while maintaining program excellence and professional growth. Responsible for developing comprehensive care plans, coordinating patient care, delivering ongoing treatment while fostering a strong patient-provider relationship. Committed to cost-effective care management, optimizing resource utilization, and enhancing patient experiences through continuous process improvement. Provides direct patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care within the Physician Assistant scope
- Develop comprehensive care plans and coordinate patient care
- Deliver ongoing treatment and participate in interdisciplinary collaboration
- Educate patients and families; foster strong patient-provider relationships
- Promote cost-effective care management and continuous process improvement
- Work with multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based outcomes
What We're Looking For
- Education: Master of Science in Physician Assistant (MSPA) or Doctor of Physician Assistant (PA) program; completion of an accredited program if hired after February 1, 2024
- Licensure/Certification: Active and unrestricted CA licensure as a PA; current board certification or board eligible as a PA; DEA certificate to dispense controlled substances (II-V); NPI; BLS; ACLS required if assigned to inpatient clinical care in specified departments; PALS required if assigned to Inpatient Specialty Programs or Stroke Service
- Experience: Preferred experience as a PA in acute or ambulatory settings in the assigned area; Minimum one year of experience with acute stroke and other neurovascular emergencies if assigned to Inpatient Specialty Programs
- Additional: Ability to autonomously assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans; ability to adapt to changes in workload; ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Nice to Have
- Prior experience as a PA in acute stroke and neurovascular emergencies within inpatient or outpatient settings
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $73.63 - $111.85 per hour
