About this role

About the Role This role serves as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) providing medical care in the Emergency Department for patients of all ages. The position involves interviewing, assessing, and evaluating patients to determine physical condition and the appropriate medical services, and ordering initial diagnostic studies as needed. What You'll Do

  • Provide comprehensive diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic health care services to ED patients.
  • Interview, assess, and evaluate patients to determine conditions and care needs; order initial diagnostic studies.
  • Manage urgent and emergency conditions (from suturing to fracture reduction to abdominal pain).
  • Work in a Fast Track setting, seeing several patients as part of a 12-hour shift; maintain ACEP standards and clinical policies.
  • Maintain licensure, credentialing, and privileging to serve on the Medical Staff; participate in background and reference checks as required.
  • Collaborate with ED team, communicate effectively, and provide care in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Possess strong clinical judgment, ethical standards, and professional reliability; demonstrate ability to work under stress and adapt to shift work. What We're Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
  • Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in an emergency department or urgent care setting.
  • Licensure/Certification: Valid, current, unrestricted nurse practitioner license in the United States, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico; NCCPA or AANP certification.
  • Credentialing: Credentialed and privileged to serve on the Medical Staff.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Positive references; ability to work in culturally diverse environments; high ethical standards; reliable; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong clinical skills and judgment; trusted team member; responsive to sensitive inquiries; successful completion of interviews; background, reference, and fingerprint clearance.
  • Mental & Physical Effort: Prolonged walking, standing, bending, lifting (up to 34 lbs frequently; up to 100 lbs occasionally), and the need for flexible scheduling; ability to perform evenings, nights, and weekends; ability to work under stress.
  • Environmental: Potential exposure to infectious diseases, loud noises, chemical agents, and moving equipment. Nice to Have
