About the Role Physical Therapist I – Inpatient Physical Rehab Services - Days provides inpatient PT services at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. The role focuses on assessment, treatment, and care planning for patients in inpatient rehab, with day-shift hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9:00 am to 7:30 pm, part-time 20 hours per week. What You'll Do
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, treat, and care for patients in the assigned area.
- Implements assessment/treatment/care based on the developmental stage of the patient; interprets verbal and nonverbal communication.
- Evaluates functional abilities/disabilities using measures such as strength, ROM, pain, sensation, balance, transfers, ambulation status, wound size/condition.
- Establishes treatment plan with goals and modalities to regain function, increase strength, decrease pain.
- Administers and instructs patients in all aspects of treatment plan; modifies as necessary.
- Prepares and completes patient records, billing, and documentation per departmental guidelines.
- Communicates with physicians, nursing and other staff to provide optimal patient care; involves patient, family and caregivers in plan of care including next-level-of-care planning.
- Conducts patient/family education sessions and provides self-directed programs.
- Supervises paraprofessional staff, students, and volunteers as directed; delegates tasks and monitors performance.
- Maintains safety through body mechanics, infection control; participates in in-service programs and staff meetings.
- Attends mandatory in-services; pursues professional growth; keeps abreast of PT developments.
- Participates in departmental QA and other assignments; adheres to Northwest Community Hospital standards. What We're Looking For
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA-accredited school or equivalent; current Illinois licensure or eligibility.
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
- Preferred experience: Inpatient Physical Therapy.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and education of patients and families.
- Ability to plan and adjust treatment; good documentation and teamwork. Nice to Have
- Inpatient rehab experience (preferred). Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $35.16 - $54.50 hourly.
