Job title: Physical Therapist
About the Role The Physical Therapist provides pediatric physical therapy services at Dayton Children's, primarily outpatient, with a focus on growth and development, and uses a variety of assessment tools and techniques tailored to the age groups served. The role requires collaboration with the department and other professionals, supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants, and adherence to licensure requirements. Weekend availability is required, with a minimum of 6 hours on Saturdays.
What You'll Do
- Provide pediatric physical therapy assessments and interventions appropriate to developmental level and diagnosis.
- Utilize a variety of assessment tools and therapy techniques for the age groups served.
- Recognize limitations, seek guidance when appropriate, and participate in ongoing continuing education to enhance clinical skills.
- Work collaboratively with other disciplines within the department and with hospital and community professionals.
- Ensure compliance with legal practice requirements by maintaining state licensure and documentation.
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants with appropriate supervision, documentation, and cosignatures; conduct weekly supervisory meetings to review patient issues and plans of care.
- Review plans of care for updates or changes to goals and coordinate outpatient treatment planning.
- This role is primarily outpatient, and requires a minimum of 6 hours on Saturdays.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree (Required).
- Ohio Physical Therapy license (PT) to practice in Ohio.
- Ability to work with pediatric populations and knowledge of pediatric growth and development.
- Experience or comfort working with Physical Therapy Assistants under supervision and performing collaborative documentation.
- Availability to work weekends (minimum 6 hours on Saturday).
- Strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills; commitment to safety and patient-centered care.
