About the Role CBS LA is seeking a creative Camera Technician/Photographer to shoot compelling visual content for news, working with reporters and producers. The role requires shooting, lighting, and editing skills, the ability to work as a one-person crew or part of a team, and the speed to capture fleeting moments. The candidate should be adaptable, with a passion for storytelling and the ability to work under deadline pressure and respond to breaking news. What You'll Do
- Direct lighting and set overall visual look and technical specifications for projects, as a one-person crew or as part of a team.
- Shoot quality, compelling visuals; travel light and work quickly.
- Edit video as needed; contribute to original reporting and enterprise stories.
- Respond to breaking news when warranted; work under tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with News Reporters and Producers. What We're Looking For
- Proficiency in shooting, lighting, and editing; storytelling ability.
- News production experience; ability to work under deadline pressure; adaptable.
- Excellent people skills, strong work ethic, positive attitude; passion for storytelling. Nice to Have
- On-location lighting and field camera setups experience.
- Willingness to travel and cover breaking news on short notice.
