About the Role The Phlebotomist II at Northwest Community Hospital will perform venipuncture and specimen collection for inpatients and outpatients across all ages, support processing, and help ensure timely lab services. This role also involves training staff, resolving issues, managing inventory, and representing the lab with professional customer service. What You'll Do
- Proficiently performs accurate venipuncture and capillary specimen collection for all inpatients and outpatients for all age groups.
- May collect body fluids or other samples including nasal and throat swabs, and breath samples.
- Operates and utilizes the HIS and LIS and other resources to address lab service needs.
- Prepares and assists in processing of blood and body fluid samples per guidelines.
- Assists in the orientation and training of phlebotomy staff and students.
- Addresses problems and notifies lead/supervisory personnel as needed.
- Assists with inventory management duties.
- Ensures customer requests for laboratory services are addressed promptly.
- Provides phone coverage and maintains professional appearance and behavior in line with the hospital mission. What We're Looking For
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required; CPR-BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from AHA required.
- Experience: One year of phlebotomy experience.
- Skills: Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills, strong customer service skills. Nice to Have

- Salary: $19.31 - $28.00 per hour (USD)
