About the Role Phlebotomist I - Per Diem is responsible for performing routine and some specialized phlebotomy procedures as authorized by leadership. The role also involves ordering tests into Laboratory and Hospital computer systems, documenting lab receipt of specimens, and collecting specimens appropriate for the patient population served. What You'll Do
- Perform a variety of routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by the Supervisor/Manager/Director.
- Order tests into the Laboratory and Hospital computer systems and document lab receipt of specimens.
- Collect patient specimens in accordance with test requirements and in a manner appropriate for the age and/or specific patient population served.
- Collect blood samples for specific tests ensuring volume is adequate and correct tubes are utilized. What We're Looking For
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Certification: CPR-BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider required from the AHA and PBT (ASCP) certification preferred.
- Experience: Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred.
- Skills: Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills needed, reliable transportation to travel between sites required, strong customer service skills. Nice to Have
- Flexible schedule and ability to travel between multiple sites (per diem role).
- Additional certifications or experience related to phlebotomy and patient care. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $18.84 - $27.32 per hour (USD).
