Responsibilities
- Positively identify the patient before collecting specimens for laboratory testing
- Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages using correct tubes and handling for appropriate testing
- Perform additional blood collection tasks (blood cultures, Blood Bank banding, pediatric collections) and label specimens accurately
