About the Role The Phlebotomist Clerical Support - PRN performs blood specimen collection and clerical duties in the Laboratory. The role provides courteous patient service and accurate specimen handling across age groups and supports interdepartmental collaboration.

What You'll Do

• Obtain blood specimens, in a courteous and professional manner, from patients of all age ranges.
• Perform clerical tasks and operate computer systems and office equipment as needed to support laboratory operations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and handle information independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate legible handwriting and accurate documentation; maintain attendance and punctuality.
• Follow standard precautions and safety protocols; utilize Vacutainer system, syringes, butterfly needles, safety needles, finger-heelstick devices, and related equipment as applicable.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdepartmental teams; assist in trauma situations as needed.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
• Registered as a Certified Laboratory Phlebotomist with a national certification agency or show proof of pending recertification (preferred).
• Working knowledge of HIS and LIS computer systems and related equipment; ability to use a personal computer and various software programs; experience with 5-line telephone systems preferred.
• Experience with Vacutainer systems and related devices (syringes, butterfly needles, safety needles, finger-heelstick devices), autoclave, and barcode printers preferred.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision in all settings including trauma.
• Must have legible handwriting and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
• Willingness to work part-time/PRN as assigned; shift may vary.

Nice to Have

• Experience with HIS/LIS systems and related hospital equipment.
• Familiarity with autoclave operation and barcode printers.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $19.85 - $29.46 USD per hour.
• Union: UFCW; Compensation Grade: UFCW; Compensation Grade Profile: U040.
