Pay Range: $16.26 - $24.38
Summary: The Phlebotomist collects (capillary and venipuncture) blood specimens from patients of all ages, assists patients with non-blood collections and is responsible for specimen integrity through accuracy of patient identification, specimen labelling, collection steps and specimen transport. This position performs occasional point-of-care patient testing such as glucose. The phlebotomist provides exceptional customer service.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs patient identification and specimen labeling according to standard operating procedures.
- Understands the phlebotomy processes and techniques in order to obtain quality blood specimens to ensure that correct decisions are made regarding specimen collection.
- Performs, interprets and reports point-of-care testing (e.g. glucose) and quality control.
