Job title: PhD GenAI Research Scientist Intern
About the Role Databricks Mosaic AI is focused on enabling enterprises to use AI models by advancing domain adaptation for LLMs and AI systems. As a PhD GenAI Research Scientist Intern, you will work with our research team to develop and evaluate methods that adapt LLMs to enterprise domains, including post-training, retrieval, and efficient inference.
What You'll Do
- Adapt, improve, and evaluate methods from the literature for domain adaptation.
- Design entirely new methods for domain adaptation.
- Compose multiple methods to create recipes for efficient post-training.
- Evaluate LLMs and AI systems in enterprise-like scenarios.
- Collaborate with the research team on ongoing projects at Databricks.
What We're Looking For
- Research experience and proficiency with the fundamentals of deep learning.
- Pursuing a PhD in computer science or related fields (electrical engineering, neuroscience, physics, math, etc.).
- Proficient software engineering skills, including PyTorch.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: hourly rate $54-$60 USD.
- The total compensation package may include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
