About the Role Join our Chester Pharmacy Team as a PRN Pharmacy Technician. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist with medication distribution, clerical tasks, and patient service to support safe and efficient care. This role offers PRN scheduling with additional pay differentials and on-site work at Logan Health Chester Pharmacy. What You'll Do
- Understand and complete all aspects of medication distribution from the pharmacy to assigned areas (inpatient and/or outpatient dispensing), including filling the automated dispensing system and barcode scanning, and filling patient drawers in nursing units
- Deliver medications efficiently to assigned areas; perform rounds; participate in tech-check-tech processes when applicable
- Assist with billing by debiting/crediting medications to patient accounts in accordance with policy; coordinate with pharmacy staff as needed
- Promptly answer telephone calls, respond to inquiries, and route them appropriately
- Maintain pharmacy inventory: ordering, receiving, shelving, documenting drug shortages, and disposing of expired medications per policy
- Monitor inventory for outdated medications and dispose according to policy
- Demonstrate working knowledge of pharmacy computer systems used at the location and keep a neat, orderly environment (including cleaning and waste disposal)
- Continuously pursue education to stay current with pharmacy laws and licensure What We're Looking For
- Active Montana Board of Pharmacy license as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing
- RQI First Responder required
- Proficient typing skills
- Understanding of medical terminology and calculations; knowledge of brand and generic names
- Prior experience with Pharmacy Systems and Electronic Health Records preferred; ability to learn other software
- Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented; self-starter; strong critical thinking; ability to set priorities
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Schedule flexibility for PRN shifts (days, some evenings up to 7pm; weekends as needed) Nice to Have
- Technician training program preferred
- Prior healthcare experience preferred Compensation & Benefits
- Additional 12% PRN differential pay; additional weekend shift differential pay
