Job title: Pharmacy Student Tutor
About the Role The Pharmacy Student Tutor provides tutoring support to P1 pharmacy students in courses such as pharmacy calculations, pharmaceutics, physiology, biochemistry, and microbiology/immunology. This is a UIW student position open to current Feik School of Pharmacy P-2 students, reporting to the Assistant Dean and Chair, Dept. of Pharmacy Sc.
What You'll Do
- Provide tutoring for P1 students in one or more specified courses.
- Maintain a record of students attending tutoring sessions.
- Work closely with course faculty to align tutoring with course content and schedule of topics.
- Provide notes to the faculty on what was covered during a tutoring session, concepts students had difficulty with, and any other pertinent information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Current UIW Feik School of Pharmacy P-2 student in good academic and professional standing, with a course grade of A (or an occasional B+) in pharmacy calculations, pharmaceutics I-IV, physiology I and II, biochemistry and microbiology/immunology.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively and in an easy-to-comprehend manner.
- Ability to provide tutoring in one or more courses during a semester.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Adherence to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Nice to Have
- Tutoring experience for college courses in a formal or informal setting.
Compensation & Benefits
- $14/hour.
