Job title: Pharmacy Student Intern
About the Role The Pharmacy Student Intern assists with the preparation and dispensing of medications for patients served by Broadlawns Medical Center Outpatient Pharmacy. All duties are performed under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
What You'll Do
- Assist with preparation and dispensing of medications for the Outpatient Pharmacy under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Support daily pharmacy operations and patient interactions in the outpatient setting
- Maintain flexible schedule and be available for Saturday shifts on a rotating basis; additional hours may be available in the Inpatient Pharmacy
- Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and vendor partners; apply knowledge of medical terminology, generic and brand name pharmaceuticals
- Adhere to departmental policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
What We're Looking For
- Enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy during the school year
- Current registration and licensure as a Pharmacist-Intern with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy
- Successful completion of the college year preceding the level of the position held
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends and holidays; part-time during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during summer
- Strong communication skills and knowledge of medical terminology

- Willingness to train in the Inpatient Pharmacy for additional hours and experience
