About this role

About the Role Pharmacist-Informatics at Eisenhower Health applies specialized knowledge in the purchasing, storing, prescribing, assessing, preparing, dispensing and monitoring of pharmaceutical agents and investigational drugs for acute care, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, to optimize healthcare outcomes. The role also assists in the development and maintenance of all pharmacy information systems applications/activities for the Inpatient Pharmacy and supports regulatory and quality preparedness. What You'll Do

  • Apply pharmaceutics knowledge across acute care processes: purchasing, storing, prescribing, assessing, preparing, dispensing, and monitoring of pharmaceutical agents and investigational drugs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain inpatient pharmacy information systems and activities; support regulatory and quality measures.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and state/federal healthcare laws, including USP 797 standards.
  • Oversee inventory management, medication preparation and dispensing, and medication administration as needed.
  • Manage medication reconciliation and supervise Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Educate patients and healthcare team on appropriate and cost-effective use of medications; participate in interdisciplinary problem solving and team building.
  • Work with the Information Systems department to plan, evaluate, develop, and maintain all information systems aspects of the Inpatient Pharmacy.
  • Maintain vigilance for adverse drug events and medication errors, and contribute to prevention and reporting efforts. What We're Looking For
  • Education: Pharmacy degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy (Required).
  • Licensure/Certification: California Board of Pharmacy License (Required); ASHP and/or CSHP membership (Preferred).
  • Experience: Certification, residency, fellowship, or equivalent experience in Pharmacy Informatics (Preferred).
  • Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication with patients and healthcare professionals; ability to handle stressful situations; strong inventory management, prioritization, and time management; proficiency in pharmacy information systems; critical thinking and data analysis; knowledge of pharmacology and various drug classes; observational skills; compliance with hospital policies, state and federal laws including USP 797; proficiency in detecting, preventing, and reporting adverse drug events and medication errors; ability to educate the healthcare team and patients; capability to supervise Pharmacy Technicians; strong teamwork and interdisciplinary problem-solving abilities. Nice to Have
  • Certification, residency, fellowship, or equivalent experience in Pharmacy Informatics (Preferred).
  • ASHP and/or CSHP membership (Preferred). Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $57.69 - $87.64 per hour.
