Job Summary

• We are seeking a qualified and responsible Pharmacist to oversee the safe and effective dispensing of medications and provide professional pharmaceutical care to customers.
• The ideal candidate should have 2–3 years of relevant pharmacy experience, sound knowledge of medications and pharmaceutical practice, excellent customer service skills, and a strong commitment to regulatory compliance and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately and in accordance with prescriptions and applicable regulations.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriate dosage, potential drug interactions, contraindications, and other medication-related concerns.
• Counsel customers/patients on the proper use, dosage, storage, side effects, and precautions associated with medications.
• Provide professional advice on minor health conditions and recommend appropriate OTC products where necessary.
• Maintain proper records of prescriptions, controlled medicines, and other pharmaceutical transactions as required.
• Ensure medicines are properly stored under appropriate temperature and environmental conditions.
• Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and product movement to minimise shortages, wastage, and expired products.
• Support inventory management, including stock receipt, verification, arrangement, and periodic stock counts.
• Ensure the pharmacy complies with relevant PCN, NAFDAC, and other applicable regulatory requirements and professional standards.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, confidentiality, and professionalism within the pharmacy.
• Supervise and provide appropriate guidance to pharmacy assistants and other support staff where applicable.
• Identify and appropriately escalate medication errors, adverse drug reactions, suspected counterfeit products, and other pharmaceutical concerns.
• Build positive relationships with customers and provide courteous and professional service.
• Perform other pharmacy-related duties as may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognised institution.
• Must be a registered Pharmacist with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) and possess a valid practising licence.
• 2–3 years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in a community/retail pharmacy.
• Good knowledge of prescription and OTC medications, drug interactions, dosage, and pharmaceutical care.
• Sound understanding of pharmacy regulations and professional standards.
• Good inventory and stock management skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly with minimal supervision.
• Good computer and record-keeping skills.
