About the Role The Personal Banker acts as a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to KeyBank clients, helping them achieve financial wellness through thoughtful conversations and proactive outreach. As part of the branch team, you’ll attract new clients and deepen relationships by understanding each client’s goals and delivering personalized guidance to support their financial journey. What You'll Do

  • Embody a strong client experience culture and be present with every client and teammate to positively impact their day, personally, professionally, and financially.
  • Listen for clues for financial wellness opportunities during in-person and phone conversations and provide effective, customized recommendations.
  • Consistently attain individual activity, behavior, and outcome goals and expectations.
  • Open personal and business accounts (consumer checking, small business, deposit products, home equity, unsecured lending, CDs, etc.).
  • Develop strong partnerships with branch teammates and line of business partners to focus on client acquisition and deepening current client relationships, and effectively manage internal/external centers of influence.
  • Ensure compliance with operational, risk, security and audit procedures and policies, including appropriate documentation of client interactions.
  • Support branch operations including assisting with teller transactions as needed.
  • Participate in and occasionally facilitate morning huddles and end-of-day debriefs.
  • Work on Saturdays as directed by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; duties may change.
  • Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including maintaining professional conduct and acting in the best interests of clients and Key. What We're Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent business experience required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources; sales experience is valued.
  • Understanding of consumer credit, including loan-to-value, debt-to-income ratio, and credit reports.
  • Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques with clients, including tele-consulting, outside calling, prospecting, and networking.
  • Comfortable interacting with small business clients, overcoming objections, and asking fact-finding questions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence business partners and leverage centers of influence.
  • Working knowledge of PCs (Windows, Word, Excel) and digital technology; ability to educate clients on digital platforms within Key.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Notary License preferred. Nice to Have
