Job title: Permanent Control Officer

About the Role You work as a Permanent Control Officer within the Operations team, playing a key role in strengthening risk management. Your mission is to contribute to an effective approach to risk management and control processes aligned with risk appetite, enabling Operations to realise its ambitions today and in the future.

What You'll Do

• Strengthen the risk and control framework by evaluating the effectiveness of existing processes and new processes.
• Support and challenge the organization in risk identification and management, aligned with risk appetite and determination of relevant risk and control indicators.
• Write reports for management and deliver presentations when needed.
• Develop and strengthen risk awareness within Operations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness (design testing) and operational effectiveness (operational testing) of controls and report to management.
• Work with a team comprising Permanent Control Officers and Compliance & Operational Risk Managers (CORMs), Third Party Risk Management and Access Management, collaborating with the business and second-line departments.
• Maintain a varied daily work rhythm: complete recurring tasks on time with colleagues while being able to build cases from scratch and address diverse missions.

What We're Looking For

• Master’s degree in law, economics, management or equivalent.
• Good understanding of the banking environment.
• Analytical and synthetic mindset.
• Bilingual in Dutch and French with strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Pragmatic and open to change.
• Ability to work cross-functionally on different tasks.
• Team player.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of English.
