About the Role
Join the Perioperative Support Team as a Perioperative Support Technician at Logan Health Medical Center. This role provides behind-the-scenes support in the operating room, preparing the OR with instruments, supplies, and equipment, assisting with patient and equipment transport, turnover, cleaning, and infection control to keep procedures running smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Prepare OR rooms with all the essentials: instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist with the safe transport of patients and equipment.
- Perform turnover and terminal cleaning of OR suites, ensuring every detail is spotless.
- Support the surgical team during procedures, keeping everything running seamlessly.
- Check and stock anesthesia carts and maintain surgical equipment.
- Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to ensure the cleanliness of the entire operating room (OR) area, PACU, Same Day Surgery, and Endoscopy.
- Exhibit knowledge of aseptic techniques and Universal Precautions; follow sterile procedures.
- Remain calm and professional in all interactions; communicate effectively and demonstrate teamwork.
- Assist in the safe transport of patients to and from stretchers, beds and appropriate locations.
- Assist the surgical team during operative procedures per department procedures.
- Assist with anesthesia checking and stocking of carts/machines.
- Contribute to infection control and quality improvement processes to keep patients safe.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of two (2) years’ Surgical Aide experience preferred (or WE WILL TRAIN!).
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and surgical tools.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
- RQI Provider (BLS) within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever comes first.
- Previous experience with surgical equipment preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with detail orientation; self-starter; critical thinking; ability to set priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact and professionalism.
- Possess and maintain computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
- Demonstrated integrity, kindness, empathy, and the ability to act under pressure.
- Ability to remain calm and professional; strong customer service and teamwork ethic.

- Two years Surgical Aide experience is preferred.
