About this role

Volt is immediately hiring for Performance/Calibration Engineer in Columbus, IN

As a Performance/Calibration Engineer, you will:

  • Experience with MATLAB and/or Simulink
  • Familiar with engine diagnostics, calibration, and simulation treatments preferred
  • Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering degree required
  • Test Cell and vehicle testing knowledge is preferred

This is a full-time, Contract opportunity.

Duration – 06 months

You will need the following to succeed in this role:

  • Proficiency writing MATLAB scripts and functions (1 year professional experience or 3 academic projects using MATLAB).
  • At least light experience with Simulink (1-year professional experience or 1 academic project using Simulink)
  • Strong technical communication/presentation skills and creativity
  • Experience with vehicle On-board Diagnostics (OBD), software calibration, and Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) testing preferred
  • Experience with Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) preferred

Preferred skills and experience:

  • 2 years minimum relevant working experience preferred
  • Preferably with experience working with timeseries or recorded data (plotting, working with vectors/arrays/matrices, sorting and filtering data, statistical analysis).
  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) preferred
  • Basic knowledge of automotive systems/powertrains would be nice to have

Pay range: $40.00 - $45.00/ hr

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
