Job title: Per diem Research Assistant

About the Role Rutgers University is hiring for several part-time and temporary roles across departments, including physiology teaching support, clinical/pharmacy operations, student programming, and research. These roles support education, patient-care operations, and research activities at RWJMS, UCHC, Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center, SHP, UBHC, and the Rutgers Cancer Institute.

What You'll Do

  • Proctor exams and team-based learning exercises during Physiology courses for RWJMS and SGS in Piscataway.
  • Perform technical functions for the correctional unit-dose drug distribution system; review physician orders and prescriptions; maintain confidentiality.
  • Assist the certified special education teacher in providing educational and behavioral programming for students with developmental disabilities at the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center – School Program.
  • Assist in coordinating project activities and IRB-related tasks for research projects in the Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions.
  • Provide site- and community-based case management and supported employment services to individuals receiving treatment through UBHC’s Outpatient Coordinated Specialty.
  • Design and conduct specialized research in tumor immunology under the Rutgers Cancer Institute Principal Investigator.
  • Assist with organization, coordination, and administration of school financial and human resource operations in the School of Engineering.
  • Support the Senior Student Programs coordination for the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs.

What We're Looking For

  • Relevant education or experience aligned with each role (e.g., physiology teaching support, pharmacy operations, special education, research coordination, counseling, tumor immunology, business/HR operations, and student programs).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work with multiple departments and sites.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; attention to confidentiality and regulatory requirements (IRB and patient/privacy considerations).
  • Familiarity with IRB processes for research roles and experience in clinical or educational settings as applicable.
