Job title: Per Diem Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
About the Role The psychiatric nurse practitioner will evaluate, diagnose, and treat SU students with mental health concerns. Primary responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations and ongoing pharmacotherapy or medication management, and collaborating with SU mental health counselors and medical providers to coordinate student care.
What You'll Do
- Perform psychiatric assessments, formulate treatment plans, initiate medication management, and counsel students about medications.
- Establish and maintain collaborative treatment plans with community psychiatrists; work with SU Health Services, the Counseling Center, PSC, and local psychiatric/psychology providers.
- Facilitate referrals, collaborate with outside providers, participate in chart review processes, assist with psychiatric care protocols, and serve on committees as assigned; may participate in on-call duties.
- Educate the student body on mental health issues in collaboration with the Health and Wellness Portfolio.
What We're Looking For
- Doctorate of Nursing Practice or Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and license to practice in New York State.
- National Board Certification from ANCC or AANP.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Strong assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up skills; case management; collaboration with psychiatrists and treating therapists.
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations; experience with college populations preferred.
- Willingness to participate in limited on-call duties.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $100 per hour (hourly). On-campus presence required with regular in-person duties.
