Job Summary

Summary: Responsible for providing patient care through autotransfusion and other patient care services for cardiac and non-cardiac surgical procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Assists with set up of cardiopulmonary equipment for surgical procedures under supervision.
• Coordinates lab testing procedures for blood specimens.
• Maintains compliance standards to ensure required and necessary quality controls for perioperative blood management.
• Maintains inventory, database entry, and coordinates and documents equipment maintenance.
• Maintain optimal communication, close cooperation, and consultation with perfusionist and physicians during delivery of services.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Experience

• Experience in a similar role 2-3 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and chemistry.

• Basic knowledge of hospital operations and regulatory requirements.

• General Computer skills using Word, Excel, and Access.

• Basic communication and interpersonal skills.
