About the Role The Licensed Practical Nurse (Per Diem) provides total patient care in accordance with professional nursing standards at Bayside State Prison in Leesburg, NJ. This role delivers nursing care to inmates and families under the direction of supervising clinicians and supports the health services team.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct and indirect patient care to inmates in accordance with the nursing process and professional standards
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and assist with procedures as needed
- Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, document in the electronic medical records (EMR), and communicate changes to the health care team
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation, ensure patient safety, and adhere to correctional health care policies and confidentiality requirements
What We're Looking For
- Current New Jersey Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Ability to work on a per diem, on-site basis at Bayside State Prison
- Strong clinical skills, compassion, and ability to work with diverse inmate populations
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities; basic computer and EMR documentation skills
