Our Work Model
Hybrid: you will work from our Boston office 2 - 3 days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely on the other days.
Overview
This is a broad, hands-on role at the heart of the People Team, and the first point of contact for colleagues in Boston and across the Americas. Your line manager and the rest of the People team are based in Europe, so you will run the day-to-day in the US with real autonomy.
Your time splits roughly 50% People Operations, 25% employee relations and advisory, and 25% Workplace Experience: keeping our Boston office running well and delivering events people want to come to. It suits someone who enjoys variety and is equally comfortable handling an ER case in the morning, cleaning up HR data in the afternoon, and setting up for an all-hands the next day.
How you'll contribute
People Operations (50%)
-
Be the first point of contact for employee queries, resolving them in our ticketing system or pointing people to the right information, and use AI tools to speed up routine drafting and tracking while protecting confidentiality.
-
Maintain accurate people records in Workday, deliver timely data to Payroll, and meet federal, state and legal compliance requirements.
-
Maintain HR documentation, including offer letters, agreements and employment verifications, and own the admin side of the employee lifecycle: changes, leave and departures.
-
Coordinate onboarding so new joiners have everything they need on day one, and run Day 1 Orientation for Boston starters.
-
Track People budgets, support vendor set-up and invoices, and partner with the wider People team on projects and process improvements.
Employee Relations and Advisory (25%)
-
Act as first-line advisor on employee relations matters such as leave, performance concerns, accommodation requests and complaints, triaging cases and handling straightforward ones end to end.
-
Own the ER case log and keep documentation audit-ready, including invite and outcome letters, separation paperwork and meeting minutes.
-
Coach line managers through everyday people conversations, escalating complex, high-risk or multi-jurisdiction cases to the People Partner.
-
Apply US federal and Massachusetts employment law and Scandit policy consistently and fairly.
-
Flag recurring themes to the People Partner, and help draft and update policies and the handbook.
Workplace Experience and Events (25%)
-
Keep the Boston office running smoothly: supplies, kitchen stock, shared spaces and equipment, in line with health and safety standards.
-
Coordinate in-person, virtual and hybrid events, from team meetings and workshops to hackathons and all-company celebrations.
-
Handle event logistics and attendee communications, including rooms, catering, A/V, travel, accessibility, invitations and follow-up.
-
Build strong relationships with building management and vendors, and manage vendor lists, contracts and invoices.
-
Oversee swag and inventory, and support the Global Team Outing and other Workplace Experience projects.
Who we look for

-
Hands-on Workday experience: entering data, maintaining records and pulling reports you can trust.
-
Experience using a ticketing system (e.g. Zendesk, ServiceNow, Freshdesk) to log, track and resolve employee queries.
-
Autonomy: you are comfortable working independently and making sound calls day to day, with your manager and People team in Europe.
You are also
-
Highly organized and detail-oriented, juggling competing priorities without dropping the ball.
-
A great listener and clear communicator, calm under pressure, and trusted with confidential matters.
