People Operations Associate Department: People and Culture Reports To: Director, Total Rewards Location: Remote Experience Required: 1-3 years HR, Benefits, HRIS, or related experience

Position Summary The People Operations provides day-to-day support to employees, managers, and the People and Culture team across a variety of Human Resources functions. This role serves as a primary contact for employee inquiries, supports benefits administration processes, and assists with Workday administration, reporting, and data maintenance. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, detail-focused, and interested in building a career in Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Support & People and Culture Operations

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee People and Culture inquiries and requests.

  • Respond to questions regarding People and Culture policies, benefits, payroll, time off, and employment-related processes. Tracks issues for trends and monitors response time.

  • Escalate complex employee relations, compensation, or compliance matters to appropriate People and Culture team members.

  • Maintain employee records and documentation in accordance with company policies and confidentiality requirements.

  • Support onboarding, offboarding, employee status changes, and organizational updates.

  • Serve as initial of contact People and Culture business partners to resolve issues and requests

  • Workday Administration & HRIS Support

  • Process employee transactions in Workday, including hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.

  • Assist employees and managers with Workday navigation and self-service functionality.

  • Perform data audits and ensure People and Culture data integrity and accuracy.

  • Support Workday reporting requests and routine People and Culture metrics reporting.

  • Assist with testing and implementation of Workday enhancements and process improvements.

  • Benefits Administration

  • Support benefits enrollment, life event changes, and annual open enrollment activities.

  • Respond to employee questions regarding health and welfare, retirement, and company benefit programs.

  • Coordinate with benefits vendors to resolve employee issues and inquiries.

  • Maintain benefits records and supporting documentation.

  • Assist in preparing employee communications and educational materials related to benefits programs.

  • Compliance & Reporting

  • Support People and Culture compliance activities, including employment documentation and regulatory reporting.

  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive People and Culture records.

  • Assist with audits, People and Culture reporting, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources, Benefits, HR Operations, or HRIS administration.

  • Experience working with HR systems, preferably Workday.

  • Strong customer service and employee support skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Preferred

  • Experience supporting benefits administration.

  • Experience with Workday

  • Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and employment practices.

  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or working toward certification).

  • This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career HR professional to gain broad exposure across HR operations, benefits, HRIS, and employee support while building foundational Human Resources experience.

  • This position has a starting salary range of $50,000 - $60,000 USD per year. This is the range we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for the role at the time of posting. An employee’s pay within the range is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, education, qualifications, experience, performance, business or organizational needs, and geographic location.
