Job title: Peer Tutor
About the Role The Peer Tutor role supports VUnited Scholars by helping students review course material, complete assignments, prepare for tests, and develop effective study methods and executive functioning skills. This on-campus, part-time position is designed for Villanova students to assist peers while working up to 15 hours per week.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with students to review class material and assist with assignments.
- Scribe or facilitate with student classroom accommodations.
- Prepare students for tests and quizzes.
- Identify and implement study methods based on learning styles.
- Support executive functioning in relation to class materials.
- Note: Tutors will not provide materials not yet covered in the course; faculty are the primary purveyors of new information; tutors reiterate; do not provide grading, test proctoring, or attendance for labs/lectures for grading.
What We're Looking For
- Current Villanova student (registered) and in good standing.
- Availability of 2-15 hours per week; on-campus, on-site location at St. Mary's Hall.
- Eligibility: Work-study preferred but open to all students.
- Able to support peers in review and study strategies and accommodations; familiarity with different learning styles and executive functioning.
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage Rate: $11.25 per hour.
