About the Role Dayton Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time Pediatric Palliative Care Division Chief (MD or DO) to lead, grow, and transform our comprehensive palliative care program. This employed physician leadership role reports to hospital leadership and will shape clinical strategy, program development, and mentorship across inpatient, ambulatory, and home-based services at a mission-driven, Level I trauma center.
What You'll Do
- Provide clinical leadership as Division Chief of Pediatric Palliative Care.
- Lead the palliative care program across consult services, inpatient and ambulatory care, and home-based care for patients nearing end-of-life.
- Oversee multidisciplinary team including a dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, social work, chaplain services, child life, and psychology.
- Foster staff development, mentorship, and collaboration with subspecialties.
- Partner with hospital administration to grow and transform the program.
What We're Looking For
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
- Eligible for or able to obtain an unrestricted Ohio medical license; MD or DO.
- Demonstrated leadership ability or strong interest in program development and mentorship.
- Excellent communication skills and a desire for a long-term, stable leadership role.
Nice to Have
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary palliative care team, including nursing, social work, chaplaincy, child life, and psychology.
