The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking board eligible/board certified pediatric endocrinologists to join and help grow pediatric endocrinology and diabetes services at Intermountain Nevada Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. The pediatric endocrinologists will work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team that includes advanced practice providers, certified diabetes care and education specialists, dietitians, nurses, and other clinical support staff. This position provides comprehensive medical management to children and adolescents with diabetes and other endocrine-related diagnoses in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

This is primarily a clinical position with opportunities for teaching, quality improvement, program development, and research or other scholarly activities based on the candidate’s interests. The physicians will collaborate closely with pediatric primary care physicians, hospitalists, intensivists, and other pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists. New fellows as well as experienced pediatric endocrinologists are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include providing evidence-based, patient- and family-centered pediatric endocrinology and diabetes care in outpatient and inpatient settings, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to improve access, clinical outcomes, safety, efficiency, and patient experience.

The Las Vegas pediatric endocrinology team will also have opportunities to collaborate with the University of Utah Division of Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes, a large academic group that includes 14 pediatric endocrinologists, 4 advanced practice providers, and 4 pediatric endocrinology fellows. This collaboration provides opportunities for shared clinical expertise, education, quality improvement, scholarly activity, and program development.

Intermountain Health is building a new children’s hospital in Las Vegas, with significant plans to develop and grow specialized pediatric care for the children in the region. Qualified candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology. Medical licensure in the states of Utah and Nevada are required at the time of hire. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Adjunct, Clinical, or Tenure Track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
