Job title: PE System AM
About the Role PE System AM supports Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America's EV mass-production program by leading supplier sourcing, development, and launches for assigned commodities. The role drives supplier selection, long-term agreements, cost reduction, and quality as the program moves from development to mass production.
What You'll Do
- Understand program sourcing milestones and launch requirements to support timely introductions.
- Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, determine price, and select suppliers with Engineering and/or other relevant teams.
- Prepare and own RFIs, RFPs and RFQs for multi-year full production volume; prepare bid packages, conduct bidder conferences; analyze, evaluate proposals, negotiate, and administer resulting contracts.
- Negotiate long-term agreements with best-in-class pricing and lead cost-reduction activities.
- Develop and manage the supply base of assigned commodities meeting specifications and timing.
- Evaluate and guide final supplier selection; assess supplier core competencies and cost competitiveness using HKMC and industry should-cost models.
- Direct, manage and guide suppliers from cradle to grave through HMG's Parts Development process.
- Develop and achieve target quality levels at each milestone from development to mass production; establish improvement plans for problematic parts/suppliers.
- Drive flawless launches at supplier sites, collaborating with cross-functional teams; ISIR (PPAP) adherence; proactively respond to issues impacting delivery, cost, quality.
- Hold effective supplier/partner meetings for fast issue closure and relationship development.
- Negotiate for best pricing and tooling cost to achieve target vehicle cost; continuously pursue cost reduction.
- Develop purchasing strategies with Engineering, Quality, Production, and other teams.
- Monitor and support preventing disruptions in supply chain; disseminate information; maintain supply base information/database; plan and disseminate information.
- Hire, develop, train, and manage a number of buyers.
- Meet other requirements as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance or Accounting or related field from accredited university.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Preferred: Minimum 5 years of related job experience.
- EV Motor/Inverter/Battery experience preferred.
- Ability to assess supplier core competencies and cost competitiveness using HKMC and industry should-cost models.
Nice to Have
- Experience with EV motors, inverters, or battery components in supplier development.
- Familiarity with HKMC and should-cost modeling.
- PPAP/ISIR process experience is a plus.
