Job title: PCS Library Engineer - Sisslerfeld Site Development 100%
About the Role Bachem is a leading, innovation-driven company focused on the development and manufacturing of peptides and oligonucleotides. In the Sisslerfeld site development team, you will develop, maintain and document standardized automation modules for PCS 7 (and later PCS neo) to enable GMP-compliant operation within the plant context and actively contribute to the migration towards PCS neo as part of the site expansion.
What You'll Do
- Development, maintenance and documentation of standardized automation modules for PCS 7 (later PCS neo) based on technological function units (e.g., valve groups, dosing modules, heating-/cooling lines)
- Ensure technical and GMP-compliant function of these modules within the plant context (e.g., through simulations, FAT, SAT)
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, QA, Production, IT as well as global units to ensure consistent interfaces and process functionalities
- Define and maintain module libraries, programming standards, naming conventions and structural guidelines
- Responsibility for Change Management in automation modules including impact analyses and GMP documentation
- Support integration with Historian (Aveva PI) and MES systems (PAS-X), e.g., for use of Module-States and Equipment-Status
- Contribute to qualification and validation (e.g., functional specifications, risk analyses, IQ/OQ)
- Technical support for commissioning and troubleshooting in ongoing operations
- Contribute to migration of modules from PCS 7 to PCS neo considering the new engineering philosophy
What We're Looking For
- Completed degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering or similar
- Several years of experience in PCS 7 programming, ideally with a focus on modular concepts or Advanced Process Control
- Knowledge of PCS 7 CFC/SFC, SCL, module blocks and custom libraries
- Experience with GMP requirements in the pharmaceutical industry as well as GAMP 5, data integrity and Change Control
- Basic understanding of Historian and MES integration and batch processes (ISA-88 compliant)
- Ideally some experience with PCS neo or willingness to learn
- Structured, quality-conscious work style as well as strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good German and English skills (written and spoken)
