Job title: PC&IS Automation Technician
About the Role The Mechelen DC Power, Controls & Information Systems (PC&IS) technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of critical equipment in a highly automated warehouse environment. This role operates primarily during the day shift at the Mechelen P&G Distribution Centre, featuring state-of-the-art automation technologies such as automated storage and retrieval systems, conveyors, PLCs, scanning and automated truck loading systems.
What You'll Do
- Commission the ADP system and contribute to its commissioning, applying necessary stacking patterns into the PLC to ensure operability.
- Maintain equipment reliability via regular assessments and troubleshooting.
- Drive OT continuous improvement initiatives focused on ADP performance, conveyor scanner efficiency, pallet throughput, and automated truck loading systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and innovative solutions.
- Act as a bridge between the Operations Technology (OT) and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of critical warehouse systems.
- Participate in onboarding, training, and mentoring activities to grow skills and capabilities.
What We're Looking For
- Core Skills: Bachelor degree in electromechanics/electronics; recent graduate up to 5 years after graduation, preferably with experience in supply chain environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of automation technologies, control systems and maintenance.
- Fluency in English and Dutch (written and spoken).
- Additional Capabilities: Passion for continuous improvement; proactive approach to innovation; problem-solving skills and attention to detail; willingness to learn and master new technologies; ability to work collaboratively within a multifunctional team.
