Payroll Specialist
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a construction-focused organization in Cary, North Carolina. This contract position with potential for a permanent role is fully onsite and offers the opportunity to manage high-volume weekly payroll processing in a fast-paced environment. The role is ideal for someone who is confident handling multi-state payroll, supporting a large field workforce, and ensuring payroll is completed accurately and on schedule.
Responsibilities

Process weekly payroll for a large hourly employee population, ensuring timely and accurate pay distribution.

Manage end-to-end payroll activities for employees working across multiple states while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.

Review timekeeping, earnings, deductions, and adjustments to resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.

Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Use ADP Workforce Now to administer payroll transactions, updates, and reporting activities.

Partner with internal teams to address payroll questions, investigate issues, and provide clear resolution.

Support overtime calculations and other variable pay components for field-based employees.

Assist with payroll-related audits, reconciliations, and process updates as needed.

Proven experience managing full-cycle payroll from data review through final processing.

Background handling payroll for large employee groups, including environments with more than 500 workers.

Hands-on experience with multi-state payroll administration and related compliance requirements.

Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and payroll systems used in high-volume settings.

Experience processing weekly payroll with strong attention to deadlines and detail.

Ability to work onsite in Cary, North Carolina during standard business hours.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive payroll information professionally.
