Join IRIS Software Group as a Payroll Analyst supporting CAVU HCM by IRIS, our North American human capital management (HCM) business. HCM means the technology and services employers use to manage people-related processes such as payroll and HR. In this client-facing role, you will manage payroll processing for a portfolio of 90+ client accounts, helping ensure employees are paid accurately, on schedule and in line with payroll requirements.
Why This Role Matters
Payroll is a deadline-driven service where accuracy and responsiveness matter every pay cycle. You will be a primary contact for assigned clients, combining end-to-end payroll processing with problem-solving, compliance and clear communication. The role reports to the Payroll Manager and has no direct reports.
About the Team You'll Join
You will work within CAVU HCM by IRIS. For candidates new to IRIS terminology, CAVU HCM is the business area named in this role, and HCM stands for human capital management. You will partner with internal teams to resolve payroll or data-integration issues while owning day-to-day service for your client portfolio.
What You'll Be Doing
Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time for 90+ assigned clients.
Verify employee data, deductions, benefits and tax information, and audit payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain compliance with federal, state and local payroll regulations.
Act as the primary client contact, communicating proactively about timelines, data requirements and potential issues while meeting established service-level standards.
Partner with internal teams to troubleshoot payroll and data-integration issues.
Prepare payroll reports and performance metrics, and support quarterly and year-end activities including W-2s and 1099s.
Recommend and help implement improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy while managing competing daily priorities.
What We're Looking For
Significant payroll experience, ideally in a multi-client or service-bureau environment.
Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume client base, including 90+ payrolls.
Strong knowledge of payroll practices, tax laws and compliance requirements.
Experience with a major payroll platform such as Paylocity, ADP, UKG, Paycom or a comparable system.
Advanced Excel and data-reconciliation skills.
A strong combination of accuracy, time management, communication, customer focus, problem-solving, adaptability, collaboration, analytical thinking and accountability.
FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus, not a stated requirement.
