Payroll Analyst
Our client is seeking a Payroll Analyst to support payroll administration and financial operations at its San Jose manufacturing facility. This position combines hands-on payroll processing, timekeeping reconciliation, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings experience with union payroll, UKG/Kronos, SAP, and Excel, along with the ability to manage payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a fast-paced environment.
Location: San Jose, CA (On-site) Job Type: Contract, Approximately 6+ Months Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Process payroll activities, including timecard validation, payroll adjustments, and reconciliation of employee hours.
- Review payroll records against time and attendance systems to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Administer payroll processes in accordance with collective bargaining agreements and applicable policies.
- Maintain accurate employee timekeeping information using UKG, Kronos, or similar systems.
- Investigate payroll questions and work with HR and operations to resolve employee pay issues.
- Prepare payroll reports, maintain supporting documentation, and assist with audits and regulatory reporting.
- Support payroll system updates, process improvements, and ongoing data accuracy.
- Assist with month-end financial close activities, including data entry, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Prepare and update spreadsheets tracking financial and operational performance.
- Review financial data for accuracy and communicate discrepancies to appropriate departments.
- Assist with purchasing card reconciliations, invoice discrepancies, and other accounting support activities.
- Coordinate with finance, HR, and plant leadership to support payroll compliance and operational needs.
- Provide additional administrative and financial support as needed.
Qualifications

1-3 years of payroll processing experience in a large corporate environment.

Extensive experience with collective bargaining agreements and union payroll requirements.

Experience with UKG, SAP, and manual payroll processes within a manufacturing plant or comparable work environment.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

High school diploma or GED required, along with strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

Experience with payroll reconciliations, financial reporting, or month-end accounting activities.

Strong communication skills and experience working across multiple departments.

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
